Military career

Admitted at the Naval Accademy of Leghorn on 1961

Graduated at Pisa's university as an engineer on 1967

Embarked on the Italian cruiser "Garibaldi" the same year, where he was responsible for the operative system and later also for the electrical system

On 1971 he was moved to a Navy's research center to develop the Italian torpedo A184

On 1976 was sent to Leghorn to follow the production of that torpedo and to develop as project manager the Franco-Italian light-weight torpedo MU90, later adopted by several Nato nations

On 1993 he won a non-quota post OF5 in NATO at the C3 Agency

Retired on 1998 with the rank of rear-admiral
